Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage |
On August 5-16, 2019 DRS President & CEO, Eric Sheppard, led the inaugural Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage to Barotseland (Western Province) in Zambia to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the transatlantic slave trade era in North America, under British rule (1619-2019) and to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for signature international projects, Restoraton Center and The Wall of Return. The Pilgrimage and related events, honored our enslaved and freed Ancestors in Virginia and North Carolina. First and foremost we give all honor to the Most High God who gave Eric the vision and provisions over the year to honor our Ancestors.
Many thanks also to all that participated in the U.S.A. and Barotseland Pilgrimage events, and to Eric's enslaved ancestor, Moses Grandy, and King Mulambwa from the Barotse Kingdom, both who paved the way to freedom for so many in their respective countries. Please support our continued community initiative efforts and contribute to the ongoing operations of the Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage and Homecoming Network projects by using the PayPal button or our new convenient CashApp address $AfricaHomecoming. All contributions, no matter the amount, are appreciated to help us continue our programs in Barotseland.
